Understanding 6 - Energetics

"Tao" is an Ancient Chinese word that roughly means "way." Once a person understands the Tao of manifestation, he or she can effectively manifest whatever is desired. Until the mastery of manifestation is achieved, efforts to manifest usually end up in disappointment and frustration (there are those fear attributes again). This chapter, the third of four Understandings about manifestation, provides the fundamental principles, the physics, of manifestation. The first two manifestation Understandings, Harmony and Divinity, described the state of conscious awareness needed to effectively manifest. Now we look at what happens when we invoke our power to manifest.

Understand energy and all else is clear.

"Energetics" is a collective word for the principles around how energy affects every aspect of the Universe (and that by definition includes us in our many forms). The principles are:

  1. Everything in the Universe is composed of energy.
  2. Energy is expressed as vibrations of different frequencies.
  3. The vibrational "signature" of energy determines its function.
  4. The human body is one component of an Energetic Body that includes all aspects (Soul, Higher Self, and self) of the entity that each of us is.
  5. Our Energetic Bodies contain a finite amount of energy.
  6. We release energy from our Energetic Bodies through thoughts, emotions, words, and actions.
  7. Our Energetic Bodies demand equilibrium.
  8. As we release energy, our Energetic Bodies seek a return of complementary (like) energy.
  9. Awareness allows us to change the vibrational signature of the energy that returns to our Energetic Bodies

I realize that the principles may appear a bit technical, even esoteric. In the presentation of this Understanding, I give intent to provide a degree of clarity that makes the principles usable in everyday life, even moment to moment.

Everything in the Universe is composed of energy.

This principle derives from modern physics. As physicists delve deeper into the nature of matter beyond sub-atomic structures, the inevitable conclusion occurs that in the final breakdown, there is nothing but energy. Even in the far reaches of supposedly "empty" space there is energy present. The logical extension of this research is that our world and we are ultimately composed of energy. Understand energy and all else is clear.

It "thinks;" therefore, it is.

Energy shapes itself into what appear as different substances (as aspects of "matter") based on the frequency at which it vibrates. An atom of oxygen vibrates at a different frequency than an atom of uranium. Our bodies are composed of a lot of different vibrations. The rate of vibration (or its "signature") determines function. For humans living in what we perceive as a "physical" world, there must be a high degree of stability and predictability about the matter that surrounds us. For example, for our hearts to suddenly change their rates of vibrations and become hunks of lead would be a shock.

Hearts of lead?

There is an important subtlety here. What keeps a particular energy consistently vibrating at the same frequency? What keeps my heart in the frequency and function of a heart instead of arbitrarily turning into lead? The answer is intelligence, not the cognitive type of intelligence possessed by our brains, but a specialized type of intelligence for each vibrational frequency of energy. A heart is a heart because it has an intelligence that wills it to be a heart. It will remain a heart until a higher vibrational energy directs it to be something else. I know that this description may spawn many questions, but we need to move on. Please accept this principle for the time being.

The highest vibration of energy is Light, not the light that comes from the sun (that is really a combination of different vibrations including the visible light spectrum). "Light" energy is the highest form of intelligence that exists. It is the prime mover and shaper of the Universe, and we can carry it within us. Isn't that great! The primeval Andeans of South American and other past cultures called themselves children of the Light and with good reason. We are. It's just that many people lose this awareness.

OK, I am a child of the Light, what's that got to do with manifestation?

My body is but one aspect of an Energetic Body (EB) that is the sum total of all that I am. My EB contains my Soul, Higher Self, and self. The Soul is my direct connection to the Divine. My self is my body, mind, emotions, thoughts, and all other cognitive and physical functions - it is the storage house of my human existence in a lifetime. My Higher Self is the vital link between my Soul and my self. My Higher Self is my Spiritual coach who sees my physical world and how I am relating to it. Think of the EB as a large bubble or sphere that contains all aspects of who I am as an entity. This bubble contains many different vibrational signatures of energy.

My EB contains a finite amount of energy, i.e., it has a capacity. The capacity can change over time, and the important point is that its capacity is still finite. I release energy from my EB through my thoughts, emotions, words, and actions. My EB always seeks to stay in equilibrium - as I release energy, my EB seeks to replace that energy. It does this by being receptive to receiving complementary energy to the energy that was released.

"What goes around comes around."

On a physical level, as I take action (such as writing this article), I release energy through the activities of my muscles and brain that was supplied by food (forms of energy). This release of energy sets up the signature in my EB for a return of complementary energy. The signature in this case creates hunger and thirst, and I seek food and drink to rebalance my EB. Physical energy expenditure also illustrates the finite capacity of the EB. When I work or exercise to the point of exhaustion, I simply cannot do any more. I have exhausted my supply of the energy needed for physical effort.

The same principles of energy release and complementary receipt are the same for non-physical, energy releases such as thoughts, emotions, and words. (I realize that although these releases have a physical component as well, the non-physical component is the more important one.) For example, if I release "angry" energy as thoughts, emotions, or words, I create a complementary energy signature in my EB that seeks to find "angry" energy to replace what I just released. A cycle is created that is self-perpetuating. This explains how fights escalate whether they are between individuals or nations. Conversely, if I release Light energy, then the complementary energy signature in my EB seeks to find Light energy to replace what I released, and a higher, self-perpetuating cycle is created.

Question: Which came first, consciousness or awareness?

How do I ever permanently get rid of anger (or any fear-based heavy energy)? Angry energy takes up space in my EB that could be occupied by Light energy. How can I make room? There is a way. The answer lies in awareness. I need to differentiate between consciousness and awareness. Consciousness is knowing what I am doing. For example, driving a car in heavy traffic demands consciousness of what I am doing and what is occurring around me with other cars. Awareness is being present to the choices that I have. Continuing the "driving in heavy traffic" analogy, awareness enables me to see the choices that I have, e.g., pull off of the road and wait for traffic to ease up, take an alternate route, move to a slower lane, and so forth. Awareness is consciousness plus. Awareness expands my ability to take action.

Answer: Consciousness came first.

What does this have to do with energy release and receipt? If I am only conscious of releasing energy (e.g., I know that I am angry), then I will have angry energy returned to me that will eventually need to be released and cause more angry energy to be returned, and the cycle continues. However, if I am aware that I can do something different then the outcome can change. I can break the cycle of releasing and receiving angry energy (or other heavy energy emotions).

The signature left in the EB by a release of energy can be changed.

I can choose to unconditionally accept the facts associated with my anger when I release it (or soon after), and then ask for Light energy to fill the void in my Energetic Body where the angry energy was stored. Doing so changes the energetic signature from anger to Light. I have replaced anger with Light. In earlier Understandings, you may recall this is precisely the process for releasing karma. Isn't it marvelous - how all of this ties together? Now you know the Tao of karmic release.

What does all of this have to do with manifestation?

However I go about manifesting, consciously or unconsciously, a release of energy is involved. Energies are often intertwined when trying to manifest. For example I may desire to manifest wealth. Wealth (in different forms) is a class of energetic vibrations. If my desire has a fear basis (of being in poverty for example), fear has a lower vibration than wealth. The lowest vibration energy will always take precedence any time two or more energies are intertwined, thus what I am really unconsciously manifesting is having fear energy returned to me, and not the wealth that I consciously wanted to manifest.

"What goes around comes around." Or does it?

"What goes around comes around," does not have to be true. Awareness that I am releasing fear gives me the ability to do something about it. I do not have to be bound to the wheel of endless release and receipt of fear-based, heavy energies. All I need to do is release any fear, which is contained within my desire to manifest, with Light. In that way, what I want to manifest is the lower vibration (since Light is the highest) and will take precedence. Understanding 3 - Fear described a three-part process for releasing fear that is summarized below.

A Three Part Process for Releasing Fear

  1. Recognize and release any emotions or judgment you are experiencing. Emotional release is what works for you: cry, yell, punch a pillow, or whatever as long as you don't harm yourself or others.
  2. After the emotions and judgments are released, what remains are the facts of whatever triggered fear. Simply acknowledge the facts for what they are, namely "what happened" without the emotional shading or story that you made up to "interpret" the facts.
  3. Accept the facts without judgment or desire to have them different than what they were. This is the point where Light will flow into your Energetic Body to replace the released fear.

There is a more detailed description in Understanding 3 - Fear. The above process description only serves as a memory jogger.

I know that Energetics alone does not completely clear up the mystery of manifestation. The last Understanding around manifestation (not the entire series) will put harmony, Divinity, and Energetics into perspective in the matter of manifesting what you truly desire. Understanding 7 is Intention - a life mastery tool for initiating the manifestation of a choice in reality.
