September 1, 2002 PlanetLightworker Newsletter

Dear Lightworkers,

I am using the editorial space in the month's newsletter in a different way than I typically do. This month I want to write about a special person, not only to me, but to you as well. That is PlanetLightworker Managing Editor, Sandie Sedgbeer.

There are few people who know what a heroic effort she puts forth each month to publish the "planet." As many of you know, none of us on the staff receive any financial compensation for our efforts. We all have "day jobs" so to speak. Well, Sandie's major client (she performs marketing consulting for a variety of clients) went out of business earlier this year (it wasn't her doing!), and she has really been scrambling to find enough work to keep herself afloat. Nonetheless, she has never wavered in her commitment to keep PlanetLightworker going.

In addition, her mother in England died in August, and although having been ill for some time, her passing came as a shock to Sandie. She like many of us believed her parents would live forever. Even when a parent is ill, when he or she does pass, it is always a shock, one that I can twice attest to.

Sandie would never burden you with what is happening in her life, but I thought you might like to know. I am not singing her praises to sing her praises. She puts her shoes on the same way the rest of us do. What I am saying is that if you want a great example of contribution from love, it is she. Although my name appears frequently in the magazine, Sandie is its heart and soul. She is PlanetLightworker. Sure, other people work on it (principally Michael Jorgensen and I), and other people lend great support like Steve and Barbara Rother, but the magazine would not happen without Sandie. Period.

Sandie publishes the magazine, not for herself or for Steve Rother, but for the readers, and especially for you, our valued subscribers. It is one of her contributions to humankind and her passion. She surely stands in that which is in her highest and best good, and that is a sure sign of expressing one's passion. She is a very good friend to me and has helped me improve my writing style and to begin to understand what journalistic editing is all about.

I possess the ability to discern the essence of someone's "contract" in this lifetime. Sandie's is kindness. At first she didn't believe it (although everyone around her can recite countless acts of her kindness) as she views herself as feisty and hardnosed, yet I can think of no better word to describe who she truly is. Kindness.

All of this is by way of saying consider remembering her in your prayers, meditations, or however you communicate with spirit. She is having a tough time right now, and she can handle it. Knowing that you are with her will make this time of transition easier for her. Thanks.
