The "Bliss" Breathing Technique I inquired into how to project myself quickly into a "blissful" altered state such as I obtain through intense journey work when the state is not purposefully brought on but occurs as a byproduct of the journey itself. The following is what I received: Quiet yourself and center yourself in yourself. Have as few perceptual distractions as possible. Take any position that is comfortable. The only requirement is to ensure that your chest and lungs are free to expand and contract. Empty your lungs using your diaphragm. When your lungs are empty, fill them through a series of small, rapid inhalations though the nostrils. As soon as your lungs are full, begin exhaling through the nostrils in short, rapid exhalations until your lungs are empty. Repeat this cycle at least three times. When you begin to shift into an alternate state, bliss breathing can be stopped. If you begin to slip out of the state, do one or more additional rounds of bliss breathing to return to the altered state. This technique works for me, and I have experienced an alternate state many times, in which it is easier to access Source and spirit. Doing so is mostly a matter of opening your mind and "listening" to what comes forth. That may be an image, a word, a phrase, or a thought. Whatever you experience, do not discount it. For most people, me included, an alternate state is very subtle and the communication, however it comes to you, is also very subtle. The state in which to access the messages of Source is much like tuning a non-digital radio - the kind that has a continuous control for tuning in the station. To hear a weak station, sometimes you tune back and forth across the frequency to find the strongest signal. Tuning in to Source, your Higher Self, angels, or whatever is much like that. Be open, give intent to connect, have a specific reason for making the connection. State what that reason is so that it is actively in your mind. Most people can do this, and in fact, probably are receiving communications from the other side of the veil. Most don't consciously recognize or discount what they are receiving as the fantasy of their minds. Not so. All information that we consciously "process" comes from either Source or from our egos. Once you can discern the difference, then it becomes easier to listen to Source, not the antics of your mind.
